Whale Watching on Cape Cod — Why Leave from Chatham?
Most Cape Cod whale watching departs from the Upper Cape or Provincetown — but Chatham sits at the elbow of the Cape, with fast access to the offshore waters east of Monomoy where whales feed in season. Instead of a big boat with hundreds of passengers, our trips run as private charters for up to 6 guests: your own captain, your own schedule, and a trip of about 3 hours shaped around that day’s conditions and wildlife activity.

A party boat is genuinely the better value for two people on a budget. For a family, a group of friends, a birthday, or anyone who wants photographs without a stranger's elbow in them, the private boat is the reason people book with us.
When to Go — Whale Season on Cape Cod
We run whale trips from June through October. Whales are off the Cape because of what they are eating, so the season follows the bait rather than the calendar, and no two years line up exactly.
June — The season opens. Water is still cool, boat traffic is light, and you often have the area to yourself.
July and August — Peak season and the warmest, calmest conditions, which matters if anyone in the group is prone to seasickness. Also the busiest, so book further ahead.
September and October — Our quiet favourite. The crowds have gone home, the light is better for photographs, and feeding activity can be excellent right through the fall.
Morning trips are usually the calmer ride, since the afternoon sea breeze tends to build a chop. If you have flexible dates, tell us when you book and we will point you at the best window — we would rather move you to a good day than take you out on a poor one.

What we can promise is that your captain will not stop looking, and that if conditions offshore are genuinely poor we will tell you before you drive to Chatham rather than take you out on a bad day.
Is it suitable for kids or anyone prone to seasickness?Families do this trip regularly. Offshore water is open water, so if seasickness is a concern, pick a morning slot in July or August, when conditions are usually calmest, and take a remedy before you leave the dock rather than after.
Can we combine whale watching with a seal cruise or shark tour?Yes — plenty of groups make a day or a weekend of it. Book them as separate trips and tell us; we will space them sensibly.
