Marine Technician (Outboard Yamaha & Mercury)
Outermost Harbor Marine is seeking an experienced Marine Technician to join our growing service team in Chatham, MA. We service and rig Yamaha and Mercury outboards and are looking for someone who takes pride in precision, clean work, and professional results.
Pay: $28–$60 per hour, based on experience

- Yamaha and Mercury outboard diagnostics and repair
- Seasonal service, commissioning, and winterization
- Repowers, rigging, and clean engine installations
- Marine electrical troubleshooting and system checks
- Full electronics installation — we are a full-line Garmin dealer
- Pre-delivery inspections and sea trials
- Maintaining organized, accurate service documentation
- Experience with Yamaha and/or Mercury outboards
- Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Professional attitude and customer-first mindset
- Valid driverβs license (certifications a strong plus)
Boat Hauler
This job consists of driving our trucks and hydraulic trailers. Most of the hauling is done within Chatham, running boats from our storage and service lots down to the water, and moving boats in and out of the bays for the technicians and cleaners.
Pay: $20–$35 per hour, based on experience
- Haul boats between our storage and service lots and the water, mostly within Chatham
- Move boats in and out of the service bays for the technicians and cleaners
- Load, secure, and unload vessels on our three hydraulic trailers
- Check straps, lights, tires, and hitches before every run
- Coordinate with the yard and service teams to keep moves on schedule
- Keep trailers clean, greased, and ready to go
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
- CDL is not required — but it certainly does not hurt
- Towing experience helpful; we will train the right person on our trailers
- Careful, safety-minded, and comfortable maneuvering in tight spaces
Yard Crew
Support marina operations including staging, launching, hauling, and maintaining a clean and safe yard.
Pay: $18–$25 per hour, based on experience
- Assist with launches and storage moves
- Maintain yard cleanliness and safety
- Work outdoors in all conditions
- Strong work ethic
- Comfortable around boats and equipment
- Safety-minded
Boat Detailer / Shrink Wrapper
Detail boats to a high standard and support shrink wrapping and seasonal prep. Ideal for someone whoβs meticulous and takes pride in a βfinished rightβ result.
Pay: $15–$20 per hour, based on experience
- Wash, compound/polish, wax, and interior cleaning
- Shrink wrapping and seasonal winterization support
- Maintain clean, organized tools and supplies
- Follow safety procedures for chemicals and heat tools
- Detailing experience preferred (will train the right person)
- Strong attention to detail and consistency
- Comfortable working around boats and ladders
Forklift Operator
Operate marina equipment safely and efficiently to move and store vessels.
- Forklift or heavy equipment experience
- Excellent awareness and safety focus
- Valid driverβs license
Captain
Provide safe, professional on-water service for our customersβeverything from local cruising to destination runs.
Pay: $20–$35 per hour, based on experience
- Operate vessels safely and professionally
- Support customers with docking, transit, and onboard needs
- Maintain readiness, cleanliness, and a safety-first approach
- Communicate clearly with the OHM team throughout the day
- Valid Captainβs license (USCG)
- Strong seamanship and calm decision-making
- Professional, customer-friendly demeanor
Charter Fishing / Tour Boat Captain
Lead half-day inshore fishing trips and guided on-water experiences out of Chatham. A great fit for a captain whoβs safety-first, personable, and knows these waters.
- Run safe, customer-ready charter and tour trips
- Provide clear safety briefings and set trip expectations
- Maintain equipment and vessel cleanliness
- Deliver a friendly, professional guest experience
- USCG license (6-pack or higher preferred)
- Local navigation and strong weather judgment
